Ruby Full Stack Developer

My client has spent the past five years developing technology to change the way customers can search and book private Airlines online. They have successfully built the first marketplace which lets users search, book and pay for their Jets online – easier said then done. Private aviation flights are bespoke (nothing is pre-scheduled), so every time you do a search on their site or app, each result is custom-built and the result has to be optimised, compliant and priced accurately. Imagine everything British Airways has to do when establishing a new route – their systems have to cover all of that in a couple of seconds, posing some significant data and computational challenges.
Requirements
•BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field(MS and PhD a plus), or equivalent practical experience
•Experience or demonstrated interest with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design
•Not afraid of taking on the responsibility typical of a start-up and not afraid to ask ‘stupid’ questions
•They are looking for engineers at all levels of the stack. You can be back-end, front-end infrastructure or full-stack, as long as you have experience in one or more of:
[Back-end] Ruby, Scala, Go, Clojure
[Front-end] AngularJS or similar MVC frameworks

Benefits
•Fun and dynamic learning environment – supportive team, code reviews and development best practices
•Ping pong table, unlimited snacks and fruit
•Weekly after-work drinks
•Other considerations:

Their stack is primarily AngularJS and Ruby, but they’re adding languages as part of moving to a micro-services architecture

They’ve traditionally used Capistrano to deploy their applications, but they’re introducing Docker

As a technology company in the aviation space, they work on interesting problems, a couple of examples:
 Global wind analysis to improve aircraft performance
 Routing algorithms
 Event-driven customer acquisition analysis

You will own large projects and therefore influence what and how they build
